(Miniature Poodles)

I have had a lifetime of involvement breeding, exhibiting and loving pure bred dogs.  I was born into a family who have had a long history with the breeding and exhibiting a variety of breeds. My great Grandmother was involved with Scottish and Irish Terriers and my Grandmother bred and showed English Cocker Spaniels with my mother.  When I was a small child we then branched into Toy breeds, in particular Australian Silky Terriers. It seems that I was born with the “dog game” in my blood!

After living my early years with English Cocker Spaniels, at the age of 7 my mother purchased my first Toy breed, a Pomeranian.  After handling Pomeranians and Australian Silky Terriers for others, my love for Australian Silky Terriers grew and I soon had one of my own.  After 37 years we still proudly own, breed and exhibit Australian Silky Terriers under the Gayplad Kennel prefix, co-owned with my Mother and sister Tanya. My involvement with Toy breeds does not stop with Australian Silky Terriers however, we have owned and bred Pomeranians, Pekingese and I have also exhibited Pugs and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Whilst growing up at the shows, I spent many, many hours ring side watching and admiring the beauty of the Miniature Poodle and intensely watching the skills and talents of John Edwards.  In 1998, I attained my dream of owning and exhibiting a Miniature Poodle, Aust CH Coifico Guy Laroche, who went on to become a multiple Best In Show winner and a sire of lovely breed type with great ‘poodley’
attitude.  With John’s guidance, knowledge and support, I have gone on to attain the Australian Champion and Supreme Champion titles on many Miniature Poodles from the Coifico Kennel. Nine years ago, in 2007, I was extremely proud and honoured to be asked to be a partner with John Edwards in Coifico Kennels. During my involvement with the Coifico kennels, John and I have bred and owned some lovely dogs, including the stunning show dog, Supreme Champion Coifico Drama Queen, a multi BIS and Specialty BIS winner, who also won the coveted title of NSW Show Dog of the Year in 2010. Her daughter, Ch Coifico Tantrums and Tiaras has been a multiple BOB winner at Royal Shows in Australia. We are currently campaigning an exciting young brown dog, Ch Coifico Cosa Nostra, already a poodle specialty BIS winner.

In 1991 I successfully gained my Toy Group License. I am currently licensed to judge 4 ANKC groups. My involvement with Poodles led me to train and gain my Non Sporting Group judges license in 1998.  In 2004 I was successful in attaining my Gundog Group judges license, followed by Working dogs.  I am currently training in the Terrier Group.  My judging has allowed me the opportunity to judge within Australia and overseas. I have had the pleasure of judging in Singapore, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, South Africa, Ireland and all states of Australia

I am currently the Treasurer of one of the largest All Breeds clubs in Sydney Australia, a position I have held for many years. I have previously held the position of President and Vice President positions of the Australian Silky Terrier Club of NSW and have been a member of the Poodle Club of NSW for many years.  My early interest and success in junior handling has meant that I consistently support our junior enthusiasts and have judged many qualifying heats, and in 2000 and 2008 I judged Australian State Finals.

I am truly honoured to be invited to Judge at the Swedish Poodle National show and look forward to again visiting your amazing country.
